Encaustic Art

Encaustic Art is coloured wax which is heat transferred onto the picture. The use of a small hot iron and stylus tool create remarkable results that are never the same twice. The random quality of this art media and the various techniques used with the tools present some striking images. Landscapes appear that are unique, but in many ways are familiar and desirable to the minds eye.

This art form consistently challenges the artist to observe the effects presented and provides the opportunity to add your own interpretation as the picture builds up and to experiment with new techniques to enhance the final result of the image. I especially enjoy the speed of encaustic art, as a completed picture only takes a few minutes to achieve. This appeals to my busy life style and gives a quick result to my creative attention.
